Manilva: Nilva wine experience – Wine & tapas

Manilva is a small coastal town in Malaga, in the heart of the Costa del Sol, which still has historic Moscatel de Alejandría vineyards facing the Mediterranean Sea, but which are in serious danger of disappearing due to urban development and lack of profitability. With our project, which is based on the production of Nilva wines and wine tourism, we want to help save these ancient vineyards and make the farmers’ work profitable.

On our guided tours you can visit Civima (Centro de Interpretación Viñas de Manilva), where through the three rooms (viticulture, oenology and grape harvesting) you will learn about the winemaking traditions of Manilva.

In our small artisan winery (garage wine), you’ll learn how we make our Nilva wines, and finally we’ll head to Viña del Peñoncillo, which is certified as organic farming, where we’ll taste three wines and tapas (ham, cheese), with stunning views of the Mediterranean and Africa. Our project “Save the Vineyards of Manilva” has received the international Skal award for sustainable tourism.

With your visit, you help us save the vineyards of Manilva. After CIVIMA (wine museum) and Nilva winery, we head to the winery located 1 km from CIVIMA; NB: you will need your own vehicle to get there (or walk, about 10 minutes walk). A unique experience, in a unique environment!
