A nice and relatively easy trip that everyone should experience.
The walk is about 1.5 km as shown on the map, but can be made a lot shorter by going down from the viewpoint the same way you went up.
There is decent parking at the start of the tour (Route point 1). If the lot is full, you can use the parking lot at the entrance to Casares (before the school at the top).
- Head up to the Observatorio de aves de Casares – Casares Bird Observatory for great views and birdwatching.
- Nice and quiet place with benches and fantastic views both towards Casares and Gibraltar.
- The trip is relatively easy and should be suitable for most people.
- This is primarily a hike, but the tour can also be taken by bike. In that case, you will need to park your bike before the final stretch up to the viewpoint itself. If you follow the route and take the path down on the other side of the viewpoint, you should expect to rent the bike down.

To get up to the viewpoint itself, you need to turn right here. You will return here on your way back.
On the way down from the top, you can choose to return to the car the same way you came up, but we recommend a walk around the entire trail. That means turning right here on the way down from the viewpoint.

Turn left here to return to the parking lot. If you’re heading in the opposite direction, this is where you turn right and up the path.
