There are regular ferries from southern Spain to Tangier. The trip across the Strait of Gibraltar usually takes between 1 and 2 hours, depending on the route and type of boat.

From Tarifa:
- Fastest route: approx. 1 hour by fast ferry.
- The ferries usually arrive in Tangier Ville, which is close to the city center.
From Algeciras:
- Takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
- The ferries arrive at Tangier Med, a modern port about 40 km east of the city center. You can take a shuttle or taxi from Tanger Med to the city.
From Málaga or Gibraltar:
- Longer tours are available but less common. These take up to 4-6 hours.
