Sandefjord 60+ at Finca Alamo

Thank you so much for a wonderful trip to Finca Alamo with dear friends. Great excursions, well-chosen restaurants with first-class food, and a delicious breakfast every day.

I am grateful for everything I got to experience—the sense of community, the sing-alongs, and the sense of well-being.

Experiences for Every Taste

The tour guide had prepared suggestions for excursions throughout the week, including trips to Ronda and Mijas. The weather was absolutely perfect—sunshine, pleasant temperatures around 30 degrees, and no heat wave.

Nevertheless, many chose to enjoy their vacation days by the Mediterranean, relax by the pool at Finca Alamo, or go shopping. Others visited Gibraltar, the beautiful white village of Casares, or the historic hot springs at Baños de la Hedionda. Some also explored the beautiful hiking area of Sendero La Acedía, with its marked trails through lush natural surroundings.

For many, one of the highlights of the week was an early morning by the Mediterranean, where they got to experience the sunrise and a refreshing swim as early as 7:00 a.m.

Community Around Mealtimes

The participants were divided into groups, each of which was responsible for breakfast and kitchen duty one day at a time. It worked very well. Buying groceries together made cooking easy and efficient, and several meals were served at Finca Alamo.

During the week, the group also got together for two restaurant outings and an atmospheric Spanish evening at Finca—an evening many will remember for a long time.

A trip we’ll remember

We’ll wrap up with one of the comments that perhaps sums up the whole experience:

“A trip we’ll always remember. We’re so grateful for how enriching this journey has been. Thank you to everyone who worked hard and gave it their all—because only the best was good enough!”

Good planning makes for a good trip

For those considering organizing a similar trip, the guidelines for private and church group trips at Finca Alamo can be very helpful. Although they were first published after our trip had already been planned, we discovered that we had largely followed the same principles.

One solution we were very happy with was taking the bus between the Málaga airport and Finca Alamo. Since we landed late on Monday evening, this was both easy and convenient. We picked up our rental cars in Estepona the next morning, which gave us a relaxed and pleasant start to our stay.
