Easter at Finca Alamo…
an alternative for those who were unable to attend the Easter event at Brunstad
Easter at Finca Alamo was an experience that left its mark. An absolutely fantastic place, characterized by well-being, community and togetherness with the best friends.
A warm welcome
We arrived late on Maundy Thursday evening and were greeted by a host who had set the table with cauliflower soup, fresh bread and optional drinks. A warm and hospitable welcome that set the tone for our stay. And the food throughout the week was delicious.
The plan was to follow the transfers from the Easter event, combined with experiences, activities and togetherness. But what perhaps made the strongest impression was the community – both among ourselves and with the hosts.
A clear “COM”
We got off to a particularly strong start on Good Friday with the funeral of Arild Tombre. It set a special mood for our stay and gave us a deep and moving experience.
We followed the transmissions from the Easter event from the front row, and the message hit home: a clear COM – an invitation to live with your heart turned towards God, in service to others.
Experiences in beautiful surroundings
The days were filled with both peace and adventure. There are beautiful beaches nearby, and one morning we experienced the sunrise there – a memory we will take with us.
Another day we went to the mountain town of Mijas, where we had dinner in the “Secret Garden”, visited a fun miniature museum and made some good bargains on leather goods. Several of the ladies came home with new bags.
One experience we would really recommend is the Roman baths and caves just 15 minutes’ drive from Finca, with sulphurous hot spring water. Several of us swam into the caves – a truly unique experience. We were also recommended to smear ourselves with clay from the riverbed, let it dry and rinse it off in the water. It was said to be better than “all the world’s” skin creams!
Room for both activity and rest
Some started the day early with coffee and a morning hike in the mountains of Casares, while others enjoyed quiet mornings and late breakfasts. There was room for both.
In the evenings, there were good conversations and, for some, sauna and swimming in the pool. Well-being and good experiences characterized the days.
A common thread ran through the entire stay: We were nourished for body, mind and spirit.
Thank you for a memorable stay
Many thanks to the hosts who arranged everything and made our stay extra pleasant and memorable.
